I have a skin condition called eczema. It causes my skin to be irritated and inflamed from time to time. There is no cure for eczema, but the symptoms can be managed. About 3% of the adults in Europe suffer from this skin condition.  At my worst flare-ups, I didn’t want to leave the house , ’cause people asked me if I have leprosy, looked at me like I’m infectious.
When I don’t have flare-ups, my skin looks dry and flakey, with some pigmented areas, always.
I spend years hiding it, with clothes, make-up, photoshop .. but no more. It is part of me, it’s beautiful and imperfect. I love my skin and I celebrate my flaws.

In this series, I don’t have an eczema flare-up, I just decided to make a series with NO PHOTOSHOP. I love the structure, stretchmarks and colours a skin has. It’s a beautiful landscape with its own story. I teamed up for this series with Leo Xandre, a photographer who always captures the real and rawness in people and doesn’t use photoshop.
